The focus of the story is local resident Ken Rose, who is the husband of Burdett School secretary, Charlene Rose.

“Ken Rose is definitely part of our school community,” said Justin Nicoll, Burdett Principal.

The Olympic torch is currently in the final stages of a criss-crossing, cross-Canada tour that will conclude at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver on February 12, 2010.

Burdett was one of the smallest stops of the Olympic torch relay.

By its conclusion, more than 1,000 Canadian communities will have been included in the torch relay in some fashion. The entire relay will cover approximately 45,000 kilometres.

The Globe and Mail has an average daily circulation of 332,000 across the country.
